To organize and begin a women's ministry in your church, I suggest the following steps:

1) Survey your women - click here for an example

2) What do your women want and what resources do you have available?

3) Plan a simple activity - Game Night: with each woman bringing either an appetizer or dessert. Not much cost involved and most women like to play games and share laughter. You will get a feel for women that want to lead women's ministry.

4) Form a team - I suggest no more than 12 women. 12 is a good number. It worked for Jesus! Select different women. Take your time. It took me over a year to select the women that God led me to invite to join the team. Also, consider the gifts of the women. You need women who are decorators, organizers, good at hospitality, very creative and with good at publicity. Keep all this in mind. Also, be sure to nvolve all ages and types of women so your group is well-rounded. ( I would wait several months to listen for guidance from God on choosing the right women. I did not form a team for one year)

5) Organize a monthly gathering of women. It doesn't have to be big and don't worry about numbers. Always remember that the woman that is supposed to be at the event will be. God will bring those that are supposed to be in attendance.

First and foremost before any of these steps must be PRAYER!
God will give you the direction and the correct steps for your church family!
